June 2, 20014 Pogosa Springs to Buena Vista Colorado

On our way from Pagosa Springs to Buena Vista we had to climb the San Juan mountains. It was an extreme climb. I am glad Tweety does not weight any more than he does. We were behind a 5th wheel that was smoking his brakes.
Treasure falls were about half way up the mountain
Another good view of the falls.
This is the view from the top of the mountain. Tweety and Frosty are very tired. Frosty a little on the warm side.
 Snow was everywhere.
Tweety has snow right beside him.
 Can you say brrrrr?
Snow was just right to the road. I think a few weeks ago it may had been an issue to get over this pass.
Ok for a Floridian this is enough snow.
Snow is everywhere up in the San Juan mountains.

We walked downtown Buena Vista, nice little town.

This seemed to be a training for leaders of the raft trips. They had to turn the boat over and turn it back up right.
One of the may views, look at the description of the following peaks to determine their names. There are 10 peeks over 14,000 feet visible from Buena Vista

  1. Yeah, and many years ago, another life time ago, I raced up and down one of those 14,000'+ mountains!
    The water falls is spectacular.
