June 1 2014 Day two at Pagosa Springs

 

 These are the San Juan Mountains in Colorado

 Notice that there is still snow on the mountain tops

We hiked and saw many wild flowers in bloom 

 

 

We traveled 8 miles on dirt roads to get to Piedra Falls

 We hiked up to Piedra Falls. The water was very swift.

We made it to the falls, there was a lot of mist in the air.

 Piedra Falls was very pretty and easy to hike.

 The scenery here is fantastic

 Field of wildflowers.

 Great place to have lunch on top of a hill overlooking the lake and the mountains.

 This is the view that we had during lunch.

 We walked around the lake to the dam, the view was very good.

Every time you thought you saw the best view another would appear that seemed even better.
